Overview

LGF can connect to iSCSI targets and expose their LUNs as ordinary block devices in the Storage inventory. After a successful login, the disk can be initialized with LVM, formatted, mounted, or used as part of an LGF storage pool.

Connect a target

  1. Open Storage and choose Connect iSCSI target.
  2. Enter the portal address, including the port when required, such as storage.example.com:3260.
  3. Enter the target IQN.
  4. Enter CHAP credentials only when the target requires them.
  5. Click Connect iSCSI target.

LGF discovers the target, logs in, persists the session for reboot, and rescans storage. The session should then appear under connected iSCSI targets and the LUN should appear among physical disks.

Use the disk

  1. Confirm the LUN is visible in the physical disk inventory.
  2. Add it to a volume group or create the storage layout appropriate for the workload.
  3. Create an LGF storage pool when the disk is intended for bench or shared persistent data.
  4. Verify the resulting mount and free capacity before assigning it to a bench.

Verification

  • The target session reports connected.
  • The LUN appears as a block disk.
  • The session survives a storage inventory refresh and reboot policy convergence.
  • Any pool created from the LUN reports a mounted filesystem and usable capacity.

Troubleshooting

The target cannot be reached

Confirm routing, the portal address, TCP port 3260, and target-side access controls. If CHAP is enabled, verify the username and password exactly.

The session is connected but no disk appears

Refresh the Storage page and rescan the host. Check the target's LUN mapping and ensure the initiator is authorized to see the LUN.

The disk is already in use

Do not format or initialize a disk that contains an existing filesystem or volume group unless the data is intentionally being replaced.
