Overview
The Storage section gives operators a compact view of the block devices and filesystems visible to LGF. It groups the inventory into storage pools, LVM volume groups, and physical disks so you can confirm capacity before assigning storage to a bench.

Storage pools
A pool is LGF's safe storage abstraction. It records the volume group, logical volume, filesystem, mount path, capacity, and available space. Use a pool when assigning dedicated storage to a bench; do not select a raw disk or volume group for that purpose.

Before using a pool, confirm that:
- the pool is mounted at its expected path;
- the filesystem has enough free space for the bench and its persistent data;
- it is not already assigned to another bench; and
- the displayed filesystem and mount path match the storage you intend to use.

Volume groups and disks
Volume groups show the LVM capacity available for logical volumes. Physical disks show the underlying devices, sizes, models, and whether a device is a disk or removable media. Treat unassigned disks carefully: creating a volume group or filesystem can overwrite existing data.
Bench storage
When a pool-backed bench is deployed, LGF mounts the pool at /opt/LGF/<bench> and keeps persistent platform data beneath that bench root. If the expected pool is unavailable, LGF should refuse to start the bench rather than silently writing to the operating-system filesystem.
